Cliff began his acting career in the late 1940s when he starred in Kraft Television Theater (1947-1958). He made his feature film debut as Alan Benson, the friend of protagonist Hal Carter, in Picnic (1955). Six Oscar nominations were received for the film, two of which were winners. Cliff Robertson was a successful actor for almost ten years. He won the lead roles in RT 109 (1963) and The Most Worthy (1964), which were approved by JF Kennedy, the 35th President.
