   1. Help Others

In order to become a more spiritual person, you must first realize the fact that “we are all here on earth to help each other no matter the tribe,” explains Mary Potter Kenyon, a certified grief counselor and program coordinator for the Shalom Spirituality Center in Iowa. Helping others doesn’t necessarily mean you should join the Peace Corps or peace giving groups. Whenever you can, Kenyon suggests that you simply “extend a helping hand, smile at people every time, or reach out and hug someone daily” to open up your heart and fine-tune your spirituality.

  2. Make a Wish List

A spiritual wish list doesn’t in anyway contain Amazon goodies and concert tickets as the case may be. Rather, it should include items that foster “self-love, self-compassion, self-acceptance, self-appreciation, and self-gratitude,” writes Jacqueline Pirtle, a spiritual life coach, in her book 365 Days of Happiness: Because Happiness is a Piece of Cake! If you’re still not sure on what to put on your list, Pirtle suggests to start with things like “I wish for me to treat myself just like my own best friend,” and “I wish for me to relax and spend time in quiet and peace.

  3. Spend 15 Minutes or more Every Morning with the 555 Practice

The 555 practice is a morning mindfulness practice that was created by Uma Beepat that can put the mind in a state of spirituality. “It basically just involves spending five minutes or more on meditation, five minutes stretching, and five minutes mentally preparing for the day.

4. Learn to Forgive

“Forgiveness is very important for spiritual growth,” explains Visa Shanmugam, a mindset and empowerment coach in Maryland. “Whether you realize that fact or not, we tend to hold onto so many traumas from as recently as today (when someone was rude to you at the bank for example), To help in the process of letting go, Shanmugam suggests that you “write down a forgiveness list” that tend to include all of the people who you believe have wronged you in anyway, and then just decide to “forgive them.” You have the power to do it now. Take action.

5.Always Truthful

“In order for you to achieve a higher state of spirituality in your life, the atmosphere needs to be as clean as possible(Very important) Kadeem Alston-Roman says , “When someone lies, it is clairvoyant seen that gray clouds emanate from their aura,” he says. If you wish to keep your aura clear so that light can shine through it, then make sure that you’re always telling the truth. (And yes, little white lies do count take note.)

6.Start a Gratitude Journal

“What we focus on is what tends to manifest in our lives,” explains Beepat. “Keeping a gratitude journal gives us the time to reflect on the events of the day and remember with happiness the things, big and small, that had made us smile.” Becoming more spiritual should not be the only reason you should practice thanksgiving, it should be part of your daily routine.
