Playing sports at the elite level can be quite lucrative, especially if you become a celebrity and are loved by the general public. This list will give some information about some of the wealthiest players in the history of the NFL and who have made a mark on the Super Bowl.

1. Roger Staubach

Roger Staubach was one of the biggest stars in the NFL in the 1970s and is known as “Roger the Dodger”, “Captain America”, and “Captain Comeback”. He is currently worth $600 million and is a former U.S. Navy Officer. He served until 1967 and moved on to a pro-NFL Career in 1969 with the Dallas Cowboys. He is a member of the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team and is a two-time Super Bowl champion. Although is a legend of the game, he got into real estate when he retired and made most of his money in that field.

2. Peyton Manning

A long-time rival of Tom Brady, Peyton “The Sheriff” Manning spent 18 seasons in the NFL with 14 of them being with the Indianapolis Colts and 4 with the Denver Broncos until his retirement in 2015. During his time in the NFL, he amassed many awards and had major career highlights so you could see why the Super Bowl betting odds would rotate around him when he was playing. He is a two-time Super Bowl Champion and is currently worth about $200 million. 

3. Tom Brady

Worth a cool $180 million at this time of writing, Brady is considered one of the best NFL quarterbacks of all time. He played for the New England Patriots from 2000 to 2019 and at age 45 he is still playing at the pro level with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers whom he joined in 2020. He was the Super Bowl MVP at the age of 43 making him the oldest player to have achieved this. He is also part of the 100th anniversary All-Time team in 2019. After an unimpressive display for scouts, when Brady was given a chance to play pro in 2000, his skill was unlocked and has become one of the most successful quarterbacks in the history of the sport. Despite his age, he is still going strong and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. His many accolades are too numerous to mention here, but suffice it to say he will go down in NFL history as one of the all-time greats.

4. Joe Montana

Known as “Joe Cool” and “The Comeback Kid” Montana was a prominent player in the 1980s and is still a player who is looked up to by fans today. He is currently worth around $80 million and has earned every penny of it if you go by his impressive career in the NFL. He was the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers for the majority of his career. His skill has made him one of the greats of the game and has helped win the Super Bowl 4 times and has been named the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) three times. He played a total of 192 professional games and the 49ers even retired his jersey number (16) when he decided to retire in 1994.
