He is also a practicing Roman Catholic, and is an ordained minister at the Universal Life Church Monastery, having also taught Sunday school. He lost a bet in 2017 which led to a strict vegan diet for seven months, but returned to eating fish, although will no longer eat anything with a hoof.

In 2012, Evelyn was cast in “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”, which is the second installment of “The Hobbit” film trilogy. The three films serve as a prequel to Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy, with Jackson also directing the prequel films, based on the novel entitled “The Hobbit” by J. R. R. Tolkien.
The film received positive reviews and was the fourth highest grossing film of 2013, surpassing “The Fellowship of the Ring” and “The Two Towers”.
